The editors of the ARBE journal adhere to COPE (Committee on Publication Ethics) guidelines and the highest standards of publication ethics and scientific integrity. It strongly opposes data manipulation, plagiarism, self-plagiarism (including duplicate publications), as well as inaccurate or incomplete declarations of interest and other forms of impropriety. All allegations of impropriety are dealt with in accordance with the conduct recommendations given by COPE, and in justified cases action is taken, such as publication of corrections or withdrawal (retraction) of articles.
Submitted articles are evaluated on the basis of substantive criteria and ethical principles, and decisions on this matter remain independent of authors’ personal factors, including, among others, gender, religion, race, origin, citizenship, sexual orientation or political beliefs.
The journal’s editors do not disclose information regarding papers submitted for publication to any person or entity outside of the authors, reviewers, editors, and publisher’s representatives, to whom such data is made available only in connection with the publishing process.
Unpublished articles may not be used, in whole or in part, by members of the Editorial Board without the prior written consent of the authors.
Both Reviewers and Authors are required to accept the Terms and Conditions of Publication of the ARBE journal, which outlines the principles of adherence to ethical standards and integrity of the publication process.
Important information for Authors in the context of publication ethics
The journal requires Authors to comply with research and publication ethics. In particular, Authors are required to make statements that eliminate the possibility of fraudulent practices such as ghostwriting (omission of the actual author from the publication) or guest authorship (attribution of authorship to a person who had no part in the research or writing of the article). The editors require authors to list the designated authors in accordance with the actual extent of their contribution to the publication. Individuals who contributed to the final form of the paper, but were not included as authors, should be honored in the acknowledgements section.
In addition, authors are required to cite the publications that were used in the creation of the article and to actively participate in the process of evaluating their work. This means that the bibliography, which is an integral part of the article, should include all the works and articles that inspired the publication being created.
The editorial board accepts for publication only original articles that are in line with the goals and objectives of the ARBE journal and that have not been previously submitted to another journal or publishing house.
Authors are required to disclose any potential conflicts of interest that may have affected the interpretation or conclusions of the article, including sources of funding and contributions from institutions, organizations and other entities.
Important information for Reviewers in the context of publication ethics
Reviewers are obliged to prepare opinions as objectively as possible, and the recommendations formulated should be supported by justification, which allows the authors to further improve the article.
If the reviewer is not competent to evaluate the article or is unable to provide a review by the deadline, the reviewer should immediately inform the Editor and resign from the review process. Similarly, in the event of a conflict of interest, it is the reviewer’s responsibility to immediately notify the Editor.
Articles submitted for review must be treated as confidential. It is forbidden to disclose to third parties any information regarding the reviewed article, including its content and conclusions of the review.
Reviewers should also point out publications that the author should include in his or her work and that have been omitted, and report to the Editor any suspicions of unauthorized borrowing or plagiarism. The reviewer should also pay particular attention to the originality of the reviewed text and its contribution to the development of the scientific discipline.
